Sprint Users Already Using Google Voice Through Beta [Some Sprint Users Already Have Google Voice Accounts Active Ahead of Official Launch Through Google's Beta Program]

The announcement of Google Voice integration with Sprint resulted in much anticipation for Sprint users. For one, this meant better number portability. Sprint users no longer have to port their number outside the network (which could result in hefty pre-termination fees). While Google has not announced an official launch date yet, some users are reportedly using Google Voice already.
Google says this is part of a beta testing program they have extended to some Sprint users. What’s great about Sprint’s Google Voice integration is that it’s available to all CDMA users, and not only to folks who use Android smartphones.
The Sprint and Google Voice arrangement is for Sprint users to be able to access call forwarding, visual voice mail and voice mail transcriptions, without the need to give up their Sprint subscription or change their Sprint mobile number. Sprint users can also receive text messages through email.
